Our Founders
Arden and Gold started as Simply Embroidered in 2003 in a spare room of a basement, founded by two sisters-in-law who were both working full-time at two separate careers. Vanessa was an elementary school teacher, and Kristina was in textiles.
Kristina’s father owned an embroidery business, and the duo saw an opportunity to expand the business with personalized apparel that could be styled with the latest fashion trends. So, in January of 2013, they started building their online boutique.
In September of 2013, a t-shirt that they had styled and photographed went viral on Pinterest. The t-shirt was then sent out in an email blast to Pinterest subscribers as “the most pinned item” that week, followed by ETSY sending the tee out in a "Top-Trending Items" email blast. This brought many sales to the shop, and Simply Embroidered took off!
Kristina went full-time at Simply Embroidered in September of 2014, and Vanessa in June of 2015. Simply Embroidered officially rebranded in 2018 to Arden and Gold.
